Updos are great, but remember you can quickly and easily style your hair by using a large curling iron, some strong hold styling spay, and add in some clip-in feather locks for a hot look at your prom!
Curling irons are tools that many ladies stay away from because they have a hard time curling their hair without creating kinks or curls that end halfway down their hair. Here are a few easy tips to keep in mind when you are curling. It is a good idea to curl in sections.
Leave the bottom 1/3 of your hair down and clip the rest up out of your way. Mist each layer before you begin curling, with hairspray. Depending on the thickness of your hair, grab pieces 1-2 inches thick and if your hair is long clamp your iron about 2/3 of the way down that section.
Curl under, toward the scalp (so that the hair begins the curl pattern near the scalp). Hold in place for 7-10 seconds and carefully open the iron just enough the slide the rest of that strand of hair so that the very ends are secured with the clamp again. Hold 7-10 seconds and let the curl go. (Be sure that you are curling the hair in the same direction as you clamp it--otherwise you will end up with a big kink and a backwards curl!)
After the first section is complete, repeat these steps with the second and third section! Usually a curling Iron with a barrel size from 1 to 1 & 1/2 inches is ideal! Finally you have gorgeous curls! View More Hairstyle Tips!

There are literally so many of the latest hairstyle trends for 2012, that no one knows what to use anymore. Since there are so many different cultures and groups of people, you have got to figure there are probably hundreds of different hairstyles to choose from, and it's not only for women. Between different emo hairstyles, military hairstyles, feminine hairstyles and many others, you've got to figure out what best suits you as a person.
The idea that a person's hair more or less defines them can pretty much be applied to everyone. People who have a tendency to go to the gym daily, and are very devoted to fitness, try to keep their hair short. It makes it a lot easier for them when they run, and they prefer to not have to really maintain it. For someone who is in incredibly in to fashion, music or art, a longer hairstyle may be preferred. Often guys have a tendency to get thinner but longer hair, because as it gets thicker it gets a lot harder to keep straight and kempt.
A popular hairstyle among teenagers in 2012 right now is called a temp fade. This is where one side of the hair is parted to the side, while the other half is partly shaved off. This is mainly common around teenage females, and is known as a "scene" hairstyle. This style has been passed around the internet, and is how it became popular, as with many different scene girl, (or boy), hairstyles.
Another hairstyle that is being used is short hair for women, (but not abnormally short), parted to one side and layered. This is also known as a scene hairstyle, and is used mostly by women, (although some men do use it). Some of the latest 2012 hairstyle trends have been considered odd, such as shaving different internet "memes" in to their heads, or other symbols in general. These trends getting so odd are due to the fact that our culture is accepting more and more, and it will continue to be this way for decades to come.
Finally, probably the 2012 latest hairstyle trend is to get a mohawk with shorter hair surrounding it. This is sometimes referred to as a frohawk, and is obviously the most common among men. It is not as common among white males, because it is a lot harder to maintain. The most common trend among white men is to either have their hair short and layered to one side, shave it off entirely, or get a type of bowl cut. A bowl cut is where your hair is perfectly curved to match your skull, and goes horizontally across your forehead instead of vertically. This can only be done with certain types of hair, and that's why it's less commonly seen among men.

When standard haircuts from your local barber no longer appeal, it may be time to consider emo hairstyles for 2012. However, before you make a decision to change your general appearance, it is important to understand the differences between standard hairstyles and emo hairstyles. The definition of emo has changed over the years. The real truth of the matter is that 'emo' covers a lot of different styles. The common similarity between emo styles is that each hairstyle is often unique to the person. This means that the haircut is catered directly to the person, matching trendy styling with the personality of the person the haircut is for.
There do tend to be some common threads between the various emo hairstyles. One of the most common ones is a 'spikey' appearance to the cut. By varying the lengths of the locks of hair, it is possible to get a feathered or spikey appearance that is easily styled to stand up, or be smoothed down as the occasion calls for. These styles are versatile, allowing the individual to vary their appearance just by changing their usually styling methods.
The most important thing that needs understood about 2012 emo hairstyles is that the haircut needs to meet several requirements in order to count as emo. First, it needs to stray from the average haircuts typically done at hair salons. In other words, if a professional business woman would wear it in a business setting, it does not classify as an emo haircut. However, some 2012 emo hairstyles can be styled for professional wear with a little effort. Before you decide on an emo haircut, make certain that your hairstyle would be appropriate for your work. While emo symbolizes individuality, it is important that you consider all facets of your life. Wearing an emo hairstyle just to rebel against the modern times and styles will often result in you being dissatisfied with the haircut in the long term.
Who can wear Emo Hairstyles?
Anyone can wear a 2012 emo hairstyle. All you need to do is have the desire to have one and the creativity to come up with a style that fits you as a person. If you're not certain what type of Emo hairstyle fits you, ask your stylist. However, you will need to find a trendy hair salon that specializes in emo hair styles. Many standard salons will have limited experience or knowledge of this style of haircut. If you see an emo hairstyle that you like, find a photograph to take to the salon with you as a reference or building point for your stylist. This will ensure that you get the style of cut that you desire.
