The 2012 Critic’s Choice Awards were held at The Hollywood Palladium on January 12, 2012 in Los Angeles, California. The stars were out that night shining brightly among the red carpet. Emma Stone graced the red carpet in a green gown and sultry eye makeup after winning two awards at the People’s Choice Awards the previous night. She decided to wear her hair up at this awards ceremony, but she wasn’t the only one.

Charlize Theron showed up in an elegant, ruffled black dress accompanied with a matching black clutch. Like Emma, Charlize Therons hairstyle was worn in an updo that allowed the unique neckline of her dress to show. Charlize chose to go with a more sleek style rather than a messy, unkempt look.

To achieve this youthful hairstyle follow these steps:

While your hair is still damp work a smoothing cream into your hair. Blowdry your hair with a flat brush and concentrating nozzle. When hair is blown out and smooth, part your hair to the side with a rat tooth comb and smooth the portion of your hair that goes across your forehead with a pomade. Warm the product between your fingers prior to applying it so that the hair will be more pliable and easy to work with. Be careful not to apply too much product, as strands will stick together and look piecey if you do. French braid the other side of your hair to the side of the nape of your neck.

Next, grab all of your hair and braid it to the side in a regular braid and secure with a small elastic. Take the braid and roll it into a bun on the side of your head and pin it into place.

To create a seamless look, take extra care in placing the bobby pins so that they do not peak out through stray . Finish up, by spraying your hair all over with a light hairspray. Make sure that any fly-aways or stray pieces are tucked into place.

The People’s Choice Awards was held at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California on January 11, 2012. The only thing more exciting than awaiting for the much-anticipated results, was seeing the glamorously decked out celebrities. Vanessa Hudgens, in particular, shined in her black and gold spider-web inspired gown by designer, Jenny Packham. She looked far more sophisticated and grown-up that night, than in her High School Musical days of the past.

With a plunging neckline and smoldering eyes, Vanessa oozed sex appeal. Her gold earrings complimented the golden detail on her dress perfectly. One of the most noticeable things about Vanessa’s appearance that night was her seemingly effortless messy up do, which pulled her entire look together. To create your own sultry updo, follow these easy steps:

Wash your hair the night before you plan on styling your hair. The added oil from the day will help make your hair more manageable and will keep it in place better than if your hair is freshly washed. Towel dry your hair and then add a smoothing cream. Scrunch the ends of your hair while applying a light gel or spritzing a sea-salt spray from root to end. Allow your hair to air dry overnight…

Lindsay Lohan Glams the Snack Run

Lindsay Lohan Hairstyles

Ah yes, this girl can’t even do ugly when she is making a snack run. Though she certainly has been finding herself in some hot water these days, she still faces the world with a smile and some coke and Doritos to aid in the process. Here she is spotted after a Fourth of July party in Malibu making a quick corner store run for the ride home. And as usual she is all legs and grins, and showing off her gorgeous features with a bun pulled up nice and high with little concern for flyaways. But you don’t need to have natural Hollywood style looks or perfect bone structure to look as great as she does, because this look is much more effortless than you may think.

Yes, not only does this look effortless, but this look IS effortless to achieve with a quick and simple ponytail twist. You want to start off with clean shiny hair like Lilo has here, and use some texturizing shampoo and conditioner that will hold the look. Then, Lindsay has simply pulled back her hair in a sexy ponytail, and not fussed too much about flyaways or concise neatness as this is a bun that is tres chic by being tres minimal. Take your ponytail and twist it into a high bun at the back of your crown, and secure with a few bobby pins. You don’t want to fuss too much with product either here, as this clean and mussy look is the one you are going for. Lilo proves here that if you want to go super cas as well, you can do so, and do so however you like and have a sexy, chic, and elegant look you can take all day or all night.
