Lilo Goes Platinum
Filed under: 2009 hairstyles, blonde hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles, lindsay lohan hairstyles, long hairstyles

This is one Hollywood starlet that certainly does like to keep us guessing, doesn’t she? Whether it’s her hair color, drug of choice, or sexuality, she never does give away too much until the very last minute. Here she is seen resorting back to her platinum days just a few days ago as she was heading out for some salon love. To get this look, Lindsay had to sacrifice the better part of her day at the Andy Lecompte Salon in West Hollywood in order to tend to her newly bleached blonde locks. After her salon day, she was spotted changing into a quick change of clothes before heading to the airport to catch a flight, presumably to New York. And this is one fashionista thtat I don’t have a problem saying seems to look good in any hair color she chooses, and once again this blonde bombshell look is really working for her. When you add the sexy vixen style blowout, she is definitely one that can turn heads no matter where she is, or what her celebrity status might be. This color is one that you want to discuss with your stylist before you make any bold moves, as platinum is a tricky one to attain, and even trickier to maintain. Make sure you and your stylist are on the same page before she starts painting on the color. Once you have that worked out, you can get this voluminous hair very easily, though give yourself some extra time here.
To get this look, use texturizing shampoo and conditioner, and you will want to blow dry with a round bristle brush. Blow dry your hair about 95%, and when it is still slightly damp, you can set your hair in large sized Velcro rollers to create this wonderful volume that Lindsay has here, without the look of curls. Let your rollers set for about 30 minutes, and then blast some heat on them to finish the drying and lock in that volume. When your hair has cooled from this blast, take the rollers out and brush out your hair with your soft bristle brush. The end result? A lovely voluptuous mane with just enough wave and volume to look sexy, but not too much that you are over the top.

Paula Abdul Pulls it Together
Filed under: 2009 hairstyles, Ponytails, brunette hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles

Paula Abdul seems to be another one of those ladies that just never seems to look bad, and given the fact that she is in the spotlight so much since her work with American Idol, we can’t be too surprised about that fact. But even after she has stepped down from her reign as judge on American Idol, she still seems to keep it together and pull off uber glam style despite the fact that she’s not so much in the public eye anymore. Here she was spotted arriving back at Burbank airport, looking fabulous and chic as not many do after stepping off a major flight. But Paula has proved that style with comfort doesn’t need to be frumpy, as she has paired some simple fashion pieces with a very chic do. She is looking sexy and elegant in a pair of straight legged jeans and a loose fitting top paired with a cute but sexy ponytail for a look that can so obviously work in the office. This just goes to show that yes, you can get away with second day hair without drawing too much attention to yourself, and you can style yourself very easily even when on long flights and airport busyness.
To get this look, dampen your soft bristle brush as you pull this ponytail back, and let it sit nice and low on the back of your neck like Paula has here. Then you just need to bend your bangs under ever so slightly with your flat iron or curling iron. This is the cute part of the sexy look, the sexy comes with the outfit you pair it with. If you pull off the right look like Paula has here and choose simple pieces that are casual, but fitted to your size and complement your figure, you can get away with the ponytail. Doing just that will ensure that if you are getting looks from the office crowd, they are the kind of looks you want. This look will only take a few minutes, so go ahead and sleep in a little since you won’t have to worry about your hair. You can arrive on time and still look fabulous and nobody will ever be the wiser.

Jessica Szohr Pins It Up
Filed under: 2009 hairstyles, brunette hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles, long hairstyles

This is one starlet that just seems to get prettier and prettier with every passing season, and it’s not even like she needed any improvement to begin with. But here is Jessica Szohr from the hit show Gossip Girl showing off her funky and eclectic style with a whole lot of gorgeousness to boot. Jessica is seen looking ever so breezy and casual as she is working on the set of Gossip Girl in Battery Park in New York City, and she is proving here that a little pin up with the hair can make any look super elegant AND super cas at the same time. And given that Jessica has naturally curly hair that to many equates to naturally unmanageable, she still seems to pull off gorgeousness in a way that seems so easy. For her work on set, Jessica went for a standard workout look with her hair piled up and back with little concern for muss and fuss and even so, she still looks fabulous. This just goes to show that yes, you can get away with second day hair without drawing too much attention to yourself.
This look is not one that you need to style or maintain, it’s a simple matter of effortlessly pinning your hair up and out of your way when you are ready to head out for the day. You can start by teasing sections along either side of your part to give you some of this volume that Jessica has here. Then you want to take both sections from your side and loosely pull them back into a bun or pony that is sitting low on your neck. The key to this look is not worrying too much about being neat and super sleek, but simply allowing the look and the volume to work for you. The less you care about this look, the more casual you appear, and the more casual you appear, the more confident you feel as well which translates into super sexy.

Leighton Meester’s Curls Night Out

Leighton Meester is seen here looking her ever so fabulous self while standing outside her hotel with boyfriend Sebastian Stan on the way to the VMA’s at Radio City Music Hall in New York City the other night. And though you may think that you know this girl’s style status from all of the trends that she has started with Gossip Girl, when she is off camera, she certainly does keep us guessing, doesn’t she? Whether she is going blonde or straight or wavy or curly, we never know what she is going to look like next. Here she has chosen a style that is right in line with her event for the evening, and has gone metallic rocker girl in an ensemble and hairstyle that pumps up the volume and gives her a seriously sexy edge. This look is sexy, vampy, and will get you everything you want on any given night on the town. The secrets here are tons of product, tons of curls, and tons of teasing.
Start off with curl enhancing shampoo and conditioner, and use a lightweight curling mousse to lock in some extra curl. Run some styling pomade on your palms, and then run them through your hair from front to back. You will then set your hair in pin curls all over your head. Use a blowdryer on low with a diffuser to dry your locks to 100% dry. This may take some time, but the end result will be well worth it.
When your curls are dry, spritz some extra hold hairspray on your curls before you take out the pins. The result will be a voluminous head of wavy bouncy curls. You can brush these out to smooth them out, or tease them whichever way you want for a hairstyle that is voluminous, sexy, and vampy for any night on the town.

Michelle Trachtenberg Keeps Us Guessing With Gossip Girl
Filed under: 2008 hairstyles, 2009 hairstyles, Ponytails, brunette hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles, long hairstyles

And here we have the every so lovely Michelle Trachtenberg appearing once again on the set of Gossip Girl, leading us to believe that some more of her trouble is in store for our favourite Upper East Siders. In the first season of Gossip Girl, we saw Michelle blast New York with her icy persona, and she returned last season as a bad girl gone good. A little too good, in the “I love Jesus, don’t you?” kind of way. And it looks like she is going to keep us guessing with her real plans for Upper Manhattan, as we see her returning here on set for the upcoming season. And this look she has here does not tell us very much in the way of what we can wait for from her.
Here Michelle is not exactly her former sexy vamp sinking her claws into the city, but she is not exactly sending off the Christian Polyanna vibes any longer. Does this happy medium in her style mean that she is going to surprise us yet again? Who knows, but what Michelle is doing with this ponytail is a great thing, as it shows that yes, even a second day hair day ponytail can look both sleek AND chic, whether you are taking it day or night.
This look is easy to accomplish, particularly since you are going to skip your shampoo and do this with second day hair. For your front section, take a fine tooth comb dipped in water, and create a razor sharp part about 2-3 inches long. Then, comb the remaining section on the back of your crown, and tease it lightly to give you a bit of height and volume at the back of your head. Use your fine tooth comb to sleekly comb your sides to the back, gathering your back crown section together with your two sides.
Secure at the nape of your neck with a clear elastic, and give the back section a spritz of extra hold hairspray. Sweep your bangs to the side in either direction of your part, however you feel most comfortable, and secure with a pin behind your ear. Finish the look with a little spritzing of hair gloss, and you have yourself a super easy hairstyle that will look and stay great no matter WHERE you take it all day or all night
