Michelle Williams looked refreshed at the Irish In Film” Pre-Academy Awards Event on february 23rd. Michelle Williams first developed this pixie cut signature style back in 2010 but continues to slightly change her look yearly. With a brighter blonde look in 2012 she continues to be a pixie hairstyles icon for girls that love to rock this trendy and confident look.

Tips when developing your own signature pixie look: Whether you are looking to go short all over or keep it more face framing, keep in mind your face shape before finding the perfect look. Also, the texture of your hair will effect the amount of styling you will have to be prepared for daily. Oval face shapes can rock almost any style so if your looking for a cut like Michelle Williams or Emma Watson, tell your stylist to cut your hair 1 inch to one in a half inches.

There is something really freeing about cutting your hair off so have fun with it! If your not quit ready to go as short as Michelle Williams, try going short in the back and keeping a longer style in the front. Longer side swept bangs are a forever in style classic that you can’t go wrong with. If this is a look you have been wanting to do, go for it!

Blonde is Back – Change your Hairstyle up for Spring 2012!

Rihanna Blonde Hairstyles 2012
Rihanna Blonde Hairstyle 2012

Blonde is back in a big way. After a wave of brunettes came onto the scene, stars seem to be lightening up their act. Last year, many high profile figures went back to their roots and started experimenting with dark tresses. Now, it seems as though the trend has passed as celebrities and fans alike seem to be rushing into their stylists to lighten their locks.

During the fall and winter months, Ombre Hair Coloring was seen everywhere. This trend allowed people to try out a lighter shade while still keeping a warm tone up top to even out pale winter skin. Since the new year has wrung in, celebrities seem to be ditching warmer golden hues for bold ash and platinum shades of blonde.

Katy Perry just recently changed her hair from black to an orange shade to pink and now she has settled on a platinum blonde bob which really makes her skin glow. She debuted her brand new tresses while hosting Saturday Night Live in New York. Another celeb who recently brightened her hair hue is Scarlett Johansson. She had a reddish tint in her hair for a movie role but premiered a lighter ashy blonde while promoting her new film We Bought a Zoo on the Today show.

If you are considering taking the plunge and going for a blonde hairstyle, then follow these guidelines to ensure healthy beautiful strands. Gradually take your color hair down a few shades at a time rather than going platinum all at once. This not only prevents your hair from getting extremely damaged but it also gives you the opportunity to make sure you actually like a lighter color on yourself. You may find that a medium shade of blonde suits you better than a light one.

Also, make sure you use color-protecting, deep conditioning treatments at least once a week when going blonde. This will help minimize damage and it will also help keep your color fresh. When you lighten you are hair, you are essentially creating tons of holes in your hair shafts to remove the dark pigment, which creates a great deal of damage. To repair hair , apply a clear shine chemical treatment to fill in the shaft. Make sure you are not over washing your hair or using excessive amounts of heat.

We are all about 2012 hair color trends, but we definitely would not suggest for everyone to go dye their hair this bright blue color like Katy Perry!

January 28, 2012 by Author:

Somehow she pulls it off without it looking too ridiculous and it may be something fun you could try with some color hair spray, but what do you think? We absolutely love the medium length bob hairstyle though!

Charlize Theron 2012 Updo

Prom Updos 2012
Prom Updos 2012

The 2012 Critic’s Choice Awards were held at The Hollywood Palladium on January 12, 2012 in Los Angeles, California. The stars were out that night shining brightly among the red carpet. Emma Stone graced the red carpet in a green gown and sultry eye makeup after winning two awards at the People’s Choice Awards the previous night. She decided to wear her hair up at this awards ceremony, but she wasn’t the only one.

Charlize Theron showed up in an elegant, ruffled black dress accompanied with a matching black clutch. Like Emma, Charlize Therons hairstyle was worn in an updo that allowed the unique neckline of her dress to show. Charlize chose to go with a more sleek style rather than a messy, unkempt look.

To achieve this youthful hairstyle follow these steps:

While your hair is still damp work a smoothing cream into your hair. Blowdry your hair with a flat brush and concentrating nozzle. When hair is blown out and smooth, part your hair to the side with a rat tooth comb and smooth the portion of your hair that goes across your forehead with a pomade. Warm the product between your fingers prior to applying it so that the hair will be more pliable and easy to work with. Be careful not to apply too much product, as strands will stick together and look piecey if you do. French braid the other side of your hair to the side of the nape of your neck.

Next, grab all of your hair and braid it to the side in a regular braid and secure with a small elastic. Take the braid and roll it into a bun on the side of your head and pin it into place.

To create a seamless look, take extra care in placing the bobby pins so that they do not peak out through stray . Finish up, by spraying your hair all over with a light hairspray. Make sure that any fly-aways or stray pieces are tucked into place.

Fun Hair Color Trends for 2012

Hair Color Trends 2012

January 28, 2012 by Author:

Kelly Osbourne pulled off a bold new look at the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards with a purplish sliver new hair color. With the trend of unnatural but fun hair color popping up from major celebrities like Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, these trendy colors are also starting to become a hit with everyday girls too. Kelly Osbourne made her almost lavender hair look more barbie-like then rock star by accentuating her softer side with her softer makeup and her asymmetrical beaded gown. If your feeling bold in 1212 try a softer fun shade like Kelly Osborn. Don’t be a afraid of color change because color can always be fixed and you only live once!

Tips before trying a trend shade: If your going for a very light shade like Kelly Osbourne, then your hair will have to be lifted to a platinum blonde before changing the tone. If your hair is already a level 7(dark blonde) or lighter then this will be less complicated. If you hair is level 6 or darker (light/medium brown) then it most likely will take a few lightening processes to get to this point. You would be best to go to a professional cosmetologist for this look rather then do it at home so you don’t come out with a more extreme color then wanted as well. Another thing to keep into consideration is your skin tone and what “trend shade” would complement you the best. No matter what your inner color trend desire is, have a plan and go for it!

The People’s Choice Awards was held at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California on January 11, 2012. The only thing more exciting than awaiting for the much-anticipated results, was seeing the glamorously decked out celebrities. Vanessa Hudgens, in particular, shined in her black and gold spider-web inspired gown by designer, Jenny Packham. She looked far more sophisticated and grown-up that night, than in her High School Musical days of the past.

With a plunging neckline and smoldering eyes, Vanessa oozed sex appeal. Her gold earrings complimented the golden detail on her dress perfectly. One of the most noticeable things about Vanessa’s appearance that night was her seemingly effortless messy up do, which pulled her entire look together. To create your own sultry updo, follow these easy steps:

Wash your hair the night before you plan on styling your hair. The added oil from the day will help make your hair more manageable and will keep it in place better than if your hair is freshly washed. Towel dry your hair and then add a smoothing cream. Scrunch the ends of your hair while applying a light gel or spritzing a sea-salt spray from root to end. Allow your hair to air dry overnight…

January 28, 2012 by Author:

Kate Moss looked amazing on January 24th as she inked her new contract as the new spokes model for the worldwide known Mango fashion.
Her touchable waves made this world famous fashion icon a triple threat and shows how waves are a big statement this year.

How to get this look: What’s great this year about curls and waves is the new techniques that create different looks with the same tool. Flat irons not only straighten the hair but also can create this look in less then 30 minutes. You want to use a flat iron with a beveled edge so you don’t have creases in the hair so you can achieve this soft but stunning look.

You also want to use the flat iron in a vertical direction and have vertical partings to create a wave pattern that flows nicely. It’s important to use a thermal spray before curling the hair to protect the hair from damage and also using a finishing spray for a polished look when finished.

Dec 27, 2011 by Author:

Why not try hair extensions like Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas for a quick change and see how it feels to have hair as long as you have ever dreamed of in just a few hours. Not only does she have her own signature perfume, tanning lotion, slippers and eye lashes, but on January 10th iHip Audio Accessories Announced Partnership with Snooki while she showcased her two signature styles, animal print and bling headphones. This up and coming Fashionista looked glamorous with her new blood red hair extensions. Long hair is very famine and sexy, so why not try out extensions to start off the new 2012 year.

There are many different options when it comes to hair extensions and here are a few of the main things you will want to take in consideration before looking for a local stylist that will help you complete your look. The first thing you will need to think about is how long will you want the extensions to last. If you are just doing them for a specific event then it would be best to try one of the more temporary extensions such as bonded extensions or “clip-in” extensions. Also, if it’s your first time trying them out, you may want to try bonded or “clip-in” extensions as well to be sure you like them and can take care of them before investing in the more expensive technique’s. Second, if you have a sensitive scalp, hair extensions can take a few days to adjust to so you have to be patent with getting use to them. Third, it’s important that you are able to style your own hair with and without the extensions because no matter how great it looks when your stylist does it, the daily upkeep is your responsibility. Forth, some hair textures work better with some technique’s then others so keep that in mind when going to your consultation with your stylist and make sure you ask questions and that you are fully aware how to care for them before you leave the salon. Last but not least, do your research when looking for a experienced stylist to prevent hair damage and follow exactly how to care for them so you don’t damage you hair as well.

Different techniques and pricing: There are allot of different techniques when it comes to applying hair extensions. If you just want to add volume and length, you can use any technique. If you are looking for a completely different look then your natural hair, there are also options for that. Pricing can range from $100 – $1000′s so make the best of them! Have fun with it and see if long haired girls have more fun in 2012!!;)

Curly Hairstyles 2012-Big Soft Curls

Curly Hairstyles 2012
Curly Hairstyles 2012

Dec 27, 2011 by Author:

Ashley Greene’s curly hairstyle was to die for at the People’s Choice Awards on January, 11 2012! She paired a racy leather dress and black heels that completed the look. This Twilight Saga vixen definitely stood out with her non-uniformed soft curls as she worked the red carpet at the Nokia theater in Los Angeles. Curly Hairstyles in 2012 are here to stay and with a new twist. Curls are a great way to change up your look and in less then an hour you can give your hair a lot of personality.

How to get this look: This style only requires five materials, a 1 1/2 inch curling iron, a clip to section off your hair, a wide toothed comb, a light smoothing serum and a light hair spray. It’s important to start with clean dry hair before beginning. Some types of curls look great with a good amount of product but when wanting to create “It’s hard not to touch” curls, less product is best.

First, section off about a 2 inch section at the base and then clip the rest of the hair up at the crown. Lightly spray the 2 inch section of hair with hair spray. Take a small section of the hair and wrap it in a spiral around the curling iron. When curling hair this way, point the curling iron in a downward position and do not use the clamp on the curling iron. Simply wrap the small section of hair around the curling iron and hold for a few seconds. Let curl fall and do not touch or brush the hair immediately after curling. Repeat until that whole section is complete and then section off another 2 inch section and repeat the same steps until the whole head is complete. Before curling the very top section, part the hair the way you would like it to fall. When doing a middle part, try not to make it a perfectly strait part. A part that is slightly zigzagged or a little off centered looks best with carefree curls. After finishing the last section, let the last section cool off for a few minutes and then with a wide toothed comb, lightly brush through curls so the curls aren’t separated anymore. To finish the look, take a small amount of smoothing serum and run it through the hair to give it extra shine.
