Renee Zellweger Cropping a Few Things Off the Holiday To Do List
Filed under: 2009 hairstyles, blonde hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles, short hairstyles

This is one girl that I just love to see out and about these days, as she was once considered one of the dowdiest women in Tinseltown after her homely appearance with the Bridget Jones Diary. And now that the movie made her a household name, her style seems to be almost effortless as she banishes that dowdy look and proves to the world that Bridget was just a character. It seems that no matter where or when she is spotted these days, she is simply knocking them dead. And here she is doing just that while doing a bit of grocery shopping for her holiday festivities. She was seen coming out of the Bay Cities Italian Deli with a bag full of goods looking radiant and happy, and not just because she looks fabulous and chic, but because of the holiday season. And what she is doing here with her look is showing that short hair can really work FOR you if you want to pull off an edgy carefree look this holiday season. And though I haven’t loved too many of Renee’s looks, this is one look that I have always loved on her, and out of all of her looks I think this one suits her the most.
You can get this look first by getting the right cut, so ask your stylist for longer length in the back and at your sides, but get some volume pumped into the top with shaggy layers cut into your crown. To style then, you can use some styling wax on towel dried hair, and blow dry your hair with a round bristle brush. This look is sleek, so you aren’t going to worry too much about volume here. When your hair is dried, spritz some antihumectant spray on your locks, and then run the flat iron over your entire head, bending the ends only slightly for some face framing style.
By using the flat iron, you will lock in the antihumectant so your hair stays straight and sleek all day long, and it also adds some extra shine to that gorgeous style. The blowout as well will give you the gorgeous movement that Renee has here in her hair, and this will keep you looking happy and carefree as you move through the holiday season.

Cynthia Nixon Has a Blast From the Past

Yes, they’re back, and we couldn’t be more excited. As filming for the sequel to Sex and the City Movie continued this week, we couldn’t help but wonder what the girls were up to. All of our favorite New York starlets were dressed to the hilt in 80’s flashback year, making me wonder if we will be seeing some history in the lives of these girls friendship. Could they be filming a scene that will play out as a “memory” of sorts on screen? At this point we can only guess, but one thing that will never change is that no matter how you dress up our girl Miranda, Cynthia Nixon, she always looks fabulous. And I am loving this pixie bob that she is sporting here. Cynthia is kind of famous for having the most changed look over the course of this series, but she always seems to look great, and I am loving this bob on her. Out of all of her looks I think this one suits her the most. You can get this look first by getting the right cut, so ask your stylist for longer length in the back and at your sides, but get some volume pumped into the top with shaggy layers cut into your crown.
You can also ask for some 80’s inspired sideburns like Cynthia has here. To style then, you can use some styling wax on towel dried hair, and blow dry your hair with a round bristle brush. This look is sleek, so you aren’t going to worry too much about volume here, as your layers will do that work for you. For some extra shine for a night out, you can spritz on some glossing serum for a shiny, sexy finish that will instantly glam up any night on the town.

Kherington Payne Makes the Wedge a New Trend
Filed under: 2009 hairstyles, Kherington Payne Hairstyles, blonde hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles, short hairstyles

Kherington Payne’s moves are no secret to the rest of the world when she cut up some serious rug on So You Think You Can Dance Season 4. She’s one of those hot chicks that looks different every day, always sports the most cutting trends, and makes it look so effortless with the fabulous body to boot. Here she is showing off her most recent trend, the latest Hollywood hot cut that gives short hair an all new kind of versatility.
This cut that Kherington Payne is sporting here is known as the wedge cut, and if you are looking for a short cut with a contemporary edge, this is the cut for you. Going short is a big bold move and many women don’t even want to consider it because if it looks bad, there’s not much you can do about it until it grows out. And the key to any successful short cut is to find one that complements your face shape and your features which can be a tough job for even the most seasoned stylist depending on your hair texture and consistency. But if you are considering going short, Kherington’s look here is a great shape to try on with a short cut, as this is one look that will flatter just about any face shape.
It’s called the wedge, because it has a little lift and wedge in the back, and as the hair moves forward into the face, longer pieces are cut into choppy chunky layers that pull down into an almost mini-bob. These layers can then be styled or texturized to do just about whatever you want with them. Ask your stylist for this wedge cut, with short short layers in the back, and choppy chunky layers on the front in the ends. You can also ask for textured layers on top, and this will give your crown some lift and volume that you can either sleek straight, or muss up with some product for this funky tousled look. And that is the primary reason many women go for a short hairstyle, it is sooo easy to maintain and style, and whether you are going sleek or straight, it only takes a few minutes a day. If you are considering the short look, ensure your stylist spends a healthy amount of time in the layering and texturizing, and you won’t have to worry about spending too much time with it after that, you’ll look great every day almost as is.

Agyness Deyn Chills Out in New York
Filed under: 2009 hairstyles, blonde hairstyles, short hairstyles, straight hairstyles, super model hairstyles

Supermodel extraordinaire Agyness Deyn is spotted here enjoying a little me time in New York City. She was running some errands and hanging out in her fave NYC hot spots, and transported herself easily on her cute little bike. And you have to know that only supermodels like Agyness Deyn can get away with riding a bike in New York heat in a skirt that is short enough to turn plenty of heads, which I am sure she did. Nonetheless, Agyness pulled it off, and with a heck of a lot of grace to boot. And this is a girl that proves that short hair doesn’t have to be difficult to maintain, as it seems she never seems to have the same hairstyle twice, proving that short hair is not only easy to maintain, but versatile at the same time.
You can get this look, and this super versatile hairstyle, by simply getting the right cut, so ask your stylist for longer length in the back and at your sides, but get some volume pumped into the top with shaggy layers cut into your crown. You can’t see Agyness’s crown layers here as she has sleeked them into her overall style for a day look that is easy to maintain on the bike.
For some extra shine for a night out, you can spritz on some glossing serum for a shiny, sexy finish that will instantly glam up any night on the town.

Agyness Deyn Gets a Little Funky Y’ALL
Filed under: 2009 hairstyles, blonde hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles, short hairstyles, super model hairstyles

Supermodel extraordinaire is seen here rocking a wild hairdo as she leaves the SoHo house with her besty designer Henry Holland. The two looked like they were having a time as wild as Agyness’s hair as they headed back to her hotel for some evening nightcaps. And Agyness is just one example of just how versatile short hair can really be. She uses product to the max and even with super cropped locks you just never see this girl with the same hair twice, do you?
For this look you want to start off with a cropped and shaggy do with multiple convex layers chopped all throughout your hair. You will wash and condition your hair with volumizing shampoo and conditioner, and run a smidge of volumizing mousse through your towel dried hair. You don’t need to fuss too much with blowdrying here, as you can see this style has a life of its own. So if you have the time to air dry, save your locks a bit and do so, or blow dry your hair upside down if you are in a time crunch.
Once your hair is 95% dry, set it in medium sized hot rollers to give your hair that extra wave and volume. After you place the rollers, blast the blowdryer on them to finish drying that last 5%. You can then let the rollers set in place for about 30 minutes. As you take each roller out, mist the curl with hairspray and separate the strands to maximize even more blown out volume. As you take the sections from the crown out, you want to back comb these sections in the style that you are most comfortable with. Remember, this is a style that is all about personal expression. There are no rules of thumb to place this section here, and that section there. The key to this look is looking casual but styled so that you show the world you aren’t cut from the same cloth as everyone else. This one takes a little confidence, so if you are on the shyer side, try this look out on a vegging weekend at home before you show it off to the world.

Reese Witherspoon Works it Out
Filed under: 2009 hairstyles, Reese Witherspoon Hairstyles, blonde hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles, short hairstyles

Reese Witherspoon has earned quite a valuable reputation in Hollywood as one of the most sought after A-listers to date, and it is not difficult to see why. Though we don’t see very much of her these days, we are very happy when we do get as sneak peek at what she is up to, and so when she popped out from under the radar to attend Pilates class the other day, we were VERY excited. Here she is seen in the trendy Brentwood district of Southern California, as she headed out to Pilates wearing a large pair of aviator shades and some chic black workout clothes. You almost want to hate someone that looks THAT great even when she is in prime workout mode, but with America’s sweetheart, you just can’t bring yourself to hate her, can you? No, but you can take a few lessons from her when it comes to looking effortlessly fabulous for a workout session as Reese seems to have here. And if you think it looks a little too effortless, think again because not only does this look effortless, but this look IS effortless to achieve with a quick and simple ponytail twist.
For her workout here Reese has gone with an uber cas look that still looks sexy and chic. She has simply pulled back her hair in a sexy ponytail, and not fussed too much about flyaways or concise neatness and then piled it into a double ponytail on top of her head to keep her hair free and out of her way for her Pilates session. And she has taken care of all of her little flyaways with a very pretty and very chic headband to bood. If you want to go super cas as well, you can do so, and do so however you like. While this is much more of a workout look than an everyday casual look, you can still pull this one off in the everyday if you have the right hair accessory to pair your hair with for a chic and sassy everyday casual look that really only takes a few minutes. Easy, breezy, beautiful. That’s our Reese, and if we can take a few lessons from her, then we most certainly will take full advantage of that.

To get this look, you want to start off with some serious texturizing, as it is bend in your locks that will help you get this hold. Use texturizing shampoo and conditioner, and run a dime sized dollop of pomade on towel dried hair. Blow dry your hair upside down to maximize volume and lift at the roots all over your head. You can then use a set of large sized hot rollers to add some additional volume. Let your rollers set for 30 minutes, and spritz some extra hold hairspray on your setting rollers for additional hold.
As you take your rollers out, finger comb them out. You can then part your hair on the opposite side that you normally do, and this is the trick that will get you this volume you are looking for. The ever so posh Posh Spice is seen here doing the celebrity thing in London this week as she heads out for dinner with new gal pal Kate Beckinsale. And as usual, Victoria Beckham is living up to her stylista reputation, in a to dye for hot pink mini dress that leaves little to the imagination. And Victoria Beckham is also proving here that one does not need to worry when one has short locks, as these can be just as versatile as long locks, and you can play with them however you like depending on your mood of the day. Here Victoria has decided to go chic and sleek in a hairstyle that matches her silhouette and elegant ensemble. Victoria’s punky spiked hair has grown out just a little and just enough to create a sleek look that you can wear by day and even into the evening.
If you have short locks, this will require very little effort. On towel dried hair, run some waxing pomade through your hair to give it some texture. Use a fine toothed comb to create a razor sharp part on your side, and comb your hair down on either side of the part. Let your hair air dry like this, and this will seal your part for the day. If your hair has a little bit of flyaway once it dries, use a flat iron to smooth the sections down, and spritz with some extra hold gel, combing with the fine toothed comb to smooth your ends over. Once your hair has dried, use some glossing serum to add an extra finish and an all day shine. Short hair is so easy to style and work with, the key to mastering this look is to exude the Posh confidence that goes with it!
