Drew Barrymore Puts the Sexy On

Drew Barrymore is one girl whose style you just can’t refuse, as she looks super fabby whether she is grunged out with jeans and plaid, or stepping out onto the red carpet in a fabulous dress. And fabulous it was, as Drew attended the AFI FEST 2009 screening of “Everybody’s Fine” held at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California. She was seen wearing a smashing purple dress vis a vis Victoria Beckham, and pinned her hair back in a casual ponytail that looked anything but. And this just proves just how relaxed Drew’s style is, even when she’s rocking a killer gown on the red carpet. Yes, ponytails ARE big right now, whether it is a formal night out, or a rocking Saturday morning in. This just goes to show once again that yes, you can get away with second day hair without drawing too much attention to yourself, and if you WANT to draw attention to yourself, you only need a smashing designer dress to boot.

To get this look, take a fine tooth comb and create a sleek part on the side. Dampen your soft bristle brush as you pull this ponytail back, and let it sit nice and low on the back of your neck like Drew has here. Once you are done that, you only need to sweep your bangs off to the side like Drew has done, and pin them just above your ear with a pretty jewelled pin, or with a bobby pin the same shade as your hair. So when you are gearing up for party mode, go ahead and spend more time having fun since you won’t have to spend too much time on your hair. Even if you arrive a few minutes late looking THIS hot, you will be surprised at the positive reaction.

Sienna Miller just can’t seem to cut a break, but you have to admit, she brings it on herself. At least she has good fashion to fall back on if nothing else, and she certainly proves that here. And despite the obvious bad hair day, she is looking cute as ever with white wing tipped loafers and a double breasted peacoat proving once again, if you have the style, you can swing a bad hair day now and then.You almost want to hate someone that looks THAT great even when she is in prime dog walking mode, but feel however you want about Sienna, you can’t hate this look. Paula Abdul Pulls it Together

Paula Abdul seems to be another one of those ladies that just never seems to look bad, and given the fact that she is in the spotlight so much since her work with American Idol, we can’t be too surprised about that fact. But even after she has stepped down from her reign as judge on American Idol, she still seems to keep it together and pull off uber glam style despite the fact that she’s not so much in the public eye anymore. Here she was spotted arriving back at Burbank airport, looking fabulous and chic as not many do after stepping off a major flight. But Paula has proved that style with comfort doesn’t need to be frumpy, as she has paired some simple fashion pieces with a very chic do. Did Jessica Alba’s Stylist Take the Day Off?

Jessica Alba is seen here having what for many of us would just be a normal day, as she goes out and about performing mommy duties with her daughter Honor in Santa Monica. She is one that always seems to look glamorous, so when she is having a day where she is not so glamorous, it kind of ends up looking like a bad hair day. But this is a look that many of us sport while we are performing our own day to day grind, so who are we to judge? And though she is in uber cas mode with a plaid flannel top and her hair piled in the back, she still looks great. Though if I might say so myself, she is kind of starting to look again like she could use a sandwich or two, no? But this is a look that you can pull off as well, as Jessica shows that you can go with an uber cas look and still sexy and chic.

Had she wanted to amp up her style a little bit, she could have cleaned up her ensemble, perhaps worn something like a fitted tee instead of a loose fitting top, but we can’t blame her for worrying about causes more than her look. Mischa Barton’s Bad Everything Day

Mischa Barton has been having a few personal troubles these days, and it seems to be showing on her. Here she is seen having dinner with her dogs and some friends at the Sant Ambroeus in New York City. Afterwards she was spotted enjoying some people watching whilst smoking a cigarette. And maybe Mischa has forgotten what it means to brush your hair, or that she is paparazzi friendly right now with all of her recent troubles in the looney bin. She was recently released from the hospital after a two week stay where she was under legal direction to not be released until doctors considered her to no longer be a danger to herself or others. Though we don’t know much else about Mischa’s jaunt in the hospital, we do know that her mental health is at best questionable right now. She has returned to work and seems to be coming out of her cave and in the public eye a little bit, but by all looks and accounts here, she still needs a little bit of me time, don’t you think?

This is one hairstyle that we certainly can’t recommend or provide any kind of hints or tips on, other than, don’t try this one yourself. Sometimes celebrities can get away with missing a hair brush on occasion, but this is really a rare occurrence, and not one that you want to try and get away with so soon after your exit from the bin. She just looks worn out in all shapes and forms, and this is definitely a just got out of bed look that you certainly want to avoid. Mischa’s look could be cleaned up very easily by simply taking out whatever elastic or band she has holding this mess together, and sweeping it back into a low ponytail with some mandatory brushing. She would look much less ragged and worn out, but then again, maybe this is the look she’s trying to get us to buy into.

Michelle Trachtenberg Keeps Us Guessing With Gossip Girl

And here we have the every so lovely Michelle Trachtenberg appearing once again on the set of Gossip Girl, leading us to believe that some more of her trouble is in store for our favourite Upper East Siders. In the first season of Gossip Girl, we saw Michelle blast New York with her icy persona, and she returned last season as a bad girl gone good. A little too good, in the “I love Jesus, don’t you?” kind of way. And it looks like she is going to keep us guessing with her real plans for Upper Manhattan, as we see her returning here on set for the upcoming season. And this look she has here does not tell us very much in the way of what we can wait for from her.

Here Michelle is not exactly her former sexy vamp sinking her claws into the city, but she is not exactly sending off the Christian Polyanna vibes any longer. Does this happy medium in her style mean that she is going to surprise us yet again? Who knows, but what Michelle is doing with this ponytail is a great thing, as it shows that yes, even a second day hair day ponytail can look both sleek AND chic, whether you are taking it day or night.

This look is easy to accomplish, particularly since you are going to skip your shampoo and do this with second day hair. For your front section, take a fine tooth comb dipped in water, and create a razor sharp part about 2-3 inches long. Then, comb the remaining section on the back of your crown, and tease it lightly to give you a bit of height and volume at the back of your head. Use your fine tooth comb to sleekly comb your sides to the back, gathering your back crown section together with your two sides.

Secure at the nape of your neck with a clear elastic, and give the back section a spritz of extra hold hairspray. Sweep your bangs to the side in either direction of your part, however you feel most comfortable, and secure with a pin behind your ear. Finish the look with a little spritzing of hair gloss, and you have yourself a super easy hairstyle that will look and stay great no matter WHERE you take it all day or all night

Ah yes, for some people it just doesn’t take all that long to bounce back from stalker like ex-girlfriend to new girlfriend in a jiffy. Paris Hilton is not one girl that is free from reputation smears, but her most recent post-breakup actions from Benji Madden didn’t exactly make her look like an heiress in the making, did it? Here she is though showing Benji, and anyone else that cares, that she has moved on and is happy again. Yes, the world can breath a collective sigh of relief knowing that Paris is back in the saddle, and this time she is hooking up with the cutie pie Doug Reinhardt as they vacation together in Hawaii. Paris looks pretty as usual in a gorgeous strapless maxi-dress and has pinned her hair back in an elegant coif that is both casual and sexy at the same time.

This look is very easy to accomplish, and Paris is proving that you don’t need long luscious locks for a gorgeous quickie updo. Start off with your bangs and here you will create the infamous Hollywood bump. Lift your bangs with one comb, and then with another backcomb them just a little bit so that you can get that nice little lift. Take t his section and twist it just a bit and pin at the top of your crown for an elegant lift to your bangs in the front. And though Jennifer has been under the radar lately, she won’t be for long as her new movie ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’ is due out in theatres December 12th and so she is currently hot on the promo trail for it as we speak. Jennifer is one of those girls with classic beauty, exquisite bone structure, and gorgeous sleek black hair to boot. Yes, she is one of those that does not have to worry too much about styling as she just has that natural grace and beauty we all love to envy. Here even Jennifer has not gone to too much trouble with her hair as she has sleeked it back in an easy and elegant ponytail for her appearance on Conan O’Brien. Again, this look simply proves that you don’t have to go to great lengths to look fabulous. To achieve this look, you can work with second day hair if you want, but fresh clean hair always works wonders for a sleek and shiny finish. On towel dried hair, run some styling wax in your hair to just give your hair enough extra bend to move as you like. Blow dry your hair with a flat paddle brush from root to tips to maximize sheen.

Create a middle part and then simply pull your hair into a low ponytail securing with a clear elastic. If you have any of those ponytail bumps, use a wide toothed comb to smooth them out. Try and stay away from the fine tooth comb as this will lead to more bumps along the way. If you really need some extra shine or are heading out for the night, a little glossy serum will be just the thing to add that extra glamour for an all night shine.
