Lilo Goes Platinum
Filed under: 2009 hairstyles, blonde hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles, lindsay lohan hairstyles, long hairstyles

This is one Hollywood starlet that certainly does like to keep us guessing, doesn’t she? Whether it’s her hair color, drug of choice, or sexuality, she never does give away too much until the very last minute. Here she is seen resorting back to her platinum days just a few days ago as she was heading out for some salon love. To get this look, Lindsay had to sacrifice the better part of her day at the Andy Lecompte Salon in West Hollywood in order to tend to her newly bleached blonde locks. After her salon day, she was spotted changing into a quick change of clothes before heading to the airport to catch a flight, presumably to New York. And this is one fashionista thtat I don’t have a problem saying seems to look good in any hair color she chooses, and once again this blonde bombshell look is really working for her. When you add the sexy vixen style blowout, she is definitely one that can turn heads no matter where she is, or what her celebrity status might be. This color is one that you want to discuss with your stylist before you make any bold moves, as platinum is a tricky one to attain, and even trickier to maintain. Make sure you and your stylist are on the same page before she starts painting on the color. Once you have that worked out, you can get this voluminous hair very easily, though give yourself some extra time here.
To get this look, use texturizing shampoo and conditioner, and you will want to blow dry with a round bristle brush. Blow dry your hair about 95%, and when it is still slightly damp, you can set your hair in large sized Velcro rollers to create this wonderful volume that Lindsay has here, without the look of curls. Let your rollers set for about 30 minutes, and then blast some heat on them to finish the drying and lock in that volume. When your hair has cooled from this blast, take the rollers out and brush out your hair with your soft bristle brush. The end result? A lovely voluptuous mane with just enough wave and volume to look sexy, but not too much that you are over the top.

Jessica Szohr Pins It Up
Filed under: 2009 hairstyles, brunette hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles, long hairstyles

This is one starlet that just seems to get prettier and prettier with every passing season, and it’s not even like she needed any improvement to begin with. But here is Jessica Szohr from the hit show Gossip Girl showing off her funky and eclectic style with a whole lot of gorgeousness to boot. Jessica is seen looking ever so breezy and casual as she is working on the set of Gossip Girl in Battery Park in New York City, and she is proving here that a little pin up with the hair can make any look super elegant AND super cas at the same time. And given that Jessica has naturally curly hair that to many equates to naturally unmanageable, she still seems to pull off gorgeousness in a way that seems so easy. For her work on set, Jessica went for a standard workout look with her hair piled up and back with little concern for muss and fuss and even so, she still looks fabulous. This just goes to show that yes, you can get away with second day hair without drawing too much attention to yourself.
This look is not one that you need to style or maintain, it’s a simple matter of effortlessly pinning your hair up and out of your way when you are ready to head out for the day. You can start by teasing sections along either side of your part to give you some of this volume that Jessica has here. Then you want to take both sections from your side and loosely pull them back into a bun or pony that is sitting low on your neck. The key to this look is not worrying too much about being neat and super sleek, but simply allowing the look and the volume to work for you. The less you care about this look, the more casual you appear, and the more casual you appear, the more confident you feel as well which translates into super sexy.

Leighton Meester’s Curls Night Out

Leighton Meester is seen here looking her ever so fabulous self while standing outside her hotel with boyfriend Sebastian Stan on the way to the VMA’s at Radio City Music Hall in New York City the other night. And though you may think that you know this girl’s style status from all of the trends that she has started with Gossip Girl, when she is off camera, she certainly does keep us guessing, doesn’t she? Whether she is going blonde or straight or wavy or curly, we never know what she is going to look like next. Here she has chosen a style that is right in line with her event for the evening, and has gone metallic rocker girl in an ensemble and hairstyle that pumps up the volume and gives her a seriously sexy edge. This look is sexy, vampy, and will get you everything you want on any given night on the town. The secrets here are tons of product, tons of curls, and tons of teasing.
Start off with curl enhancing shampoo and conditioner, and use a lightweight curling mousse to lock in some extra curl. Run some styling pomade on your palms, and then run them through your hair from front to back. You will then set your hair in pin curls all over your head. Use a blowdryer on low with a diffuser to dry your locks to 100% dry. This may take some time, but the end result will be well worth it.
When your curls are dry, spritz some extra hold hairspray on your curls before you take out the pins. The result will be a voluminous head of wavy bouncy curls. You can brush these out to smooth them out, or tease them whichever way you want for a hairstyle that is voluminous, sexy, and vampy for any night on the town.

Rachel McAdams Thousand Watt Smile
Filed under: 2009 hairstyles, Ponytails, brunette hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles, long hairstyles

Rachel McAdams is seen here in all her smiling glory as she and rapper 50 Cent film scenes together in New York City for their upcoming comedy “Morning Glory”.Rachel was spotted getting very excited and running around happily after meeting and giving her business card to 50 Cent outside his hotel, while Fiddy arrived in a Cadillac Escalade with his name on the license plate.
And as you can see here, Rachel McAdams is styled in a gorgeous way, simple yet elegant, proving once again that a ponytail can be worked pretty hard no matter what the day brings you. She is looking sexy and elegant in a straight lined skirt, fitted top, and a cute but sexy ponytail for a look that can so obviously work in the office.
This just goes to show that yes, you can get away with second day hair without drawing too much attention to yourself. Dampen your soft bristle brush as you pull this ponytail back, and let it sit nice and high on the back of your crown like Rachel has here. Then you just need to bend your bangs under ever so slightly with your flat iron or curling iron. This is the cute part of the sexy look, the sexy comes with the outfit you pair it with.
If you pull off the right look like Rachel has here and choose simple pieces that are casual, but fitted to your size and complement your figure, you can get away with the ponytail. Doing just that will ensure that if you are getting looks from the office crowd, they are the kind of looks you want. Go ahead and sleep in a little since you won’t have to worry about your hair. Even if you arrive a few minutes late looking THIS hot, you may be surprised at the positive reaction.

Rachel Bilson is Glowing
Filed under: 2008 hairstyles, 2009 hairstyles, brunette hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles, long hairstyles

Ah yes, there is nothing like a brand spanking new engagement ring to put a long overdue smile on a girl’s face, and Rachel Bilson is no exception. Here she is in Los Angeles doing some house hunting for her and her new husband to be, and as usual, this style icon is dressed to perfection. Pulling off a casual little black dress, Rachel is showing off a thousand watt smile to match her thousand watt diamond ring. And she has gone a little dressy in the hair, but elegantly enough that her long chestnut locks look casual as well. And whether you have easily tamable hair or not, this look of long and loose waves is so hot right now, and very easy to accomplish.
To get this look like Rachel Bilson, use texturizing shampoo and conditioner, and you will want to blow dry with a round bristle brush. Blow dry your hair about 95%, and when it is still slightly damp, you can set your hair in large sized Velcro rollers to create this wonderful volume that Rachel has here. Let your rollers set for about 30 minutes, and then blast some heat on them to finish the drying and lock in that volume.
When your hair has cooled from this blast, take the rollers out and brush out your hair with your soft bristle brush. The rollers will work to give you some volume, but don’t always allow for a wavy curl, so if you want a little more wave in your hair, use a large barrelled curling iron to lock in the sections you want more vamp appeal. The end result? A lovely voluptuous mane with just enough wave and volume to look sexy, but not too much that you are over the top.

Michelle Trachtenberg Keeps Us Guessing With Gossip Girl
Filed under: 2008 hairstyles, 2009 hairstyles, Ponytails, brunette hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles, long hairstyles

And here we have the every so lovely Michelle Trachtenberg appearing once again on the set of Gossip Girl, leading us to believe that some more of her trouble is in store for our favourite Upper East Siders. In the first season of Gossip Girl, we saw Michelle blast New York with her icy persona, and she returned last season as a bad girl gone good. A little too good, in the “I love Jesus, don’t you?” kind of way. And it looks like she is going to keep us guessing with her real plans for Upper Manhattan, as we see her returning here on set for the upcoming season. And this look she has here does not tell us very much in the way of what we can wait for from her.
Here Michelle is not exactly her former sexy vamp sinking her claws into the city, but she is not exactly sending off the Christian Polyanna vibes any longer. Does this happy medium in her style mean that she is going to surprise us yet again? Who knows, but what Michelle is doing with this ponytail is a great thing, as it shows that yes, even a second day hair day ponytail can look both sleek AND chic, whether you are taking it day or night.
This look is easy to accomplish, particularly since you are going to skip your shampoo and do this with second day hair. For your front section, take a fine tooth comb dipped in water, and create a razor sharp part about 2-3 inches long. Then, comb the remaining section on the back of your crown, and tease it lightly to give you a bit of height and volume at the back of your head. Use your fine tooth comb to sleekly comb your sides to the back, gathering your back crown section together with your two sides.
Secure at the nape of your neck with a clear elastic, and give the back section a spritz of extra hold hairspray. Sweep your bangs to the side in either direction of your part, however you feel most comfortable, and secure with a pin behind your ear. Finish the look with a little spritzing of hair gloss, and you have yourself a super easy hairstyle that will look and stay great no matter WHERE you take it all day or all night

Ali Larter Does a Bang Up Job
Filed under: 2009 hairstyles, blonde hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles, long hairstyles

Here is the always ever so gorgeous Ali Larter looking stunning at the Cinema Society and MCM screening of ‘Obsessed’ at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. We haven’t seen too much of Ali lately, but when we do, does she ever impress. Ali does a bang up job in the movie playing a temp that takes a liking to a co-worker, which is all well and good. If said co-worker isn’t married to someone as fabulous as Sharon, a character played by Beyonce. Ali Larter the obsessed type? Never in real life, but she certainly did a good job making the point in this film. And when she appeared on the red carpet for the premiere in this particular get up, she certainly proved that she was a force to be reckoned with. Ali Larter and her infamous bangs are one look that will never change, and that is of no surprise to us. Why? Ali’s bangs are almost signature to her personal look right now, so why should she consider changing something that isn’t broken?
If you are looking for a switch to your look, but don’t want to take too many bold steps, follow in the likes of signature face framing statements like Ali, and yes, even Beyonce. Keep in mind that blunt bangs are a thing of the past, instead go for longer fringe bangs that are cut mildly uneven. This uneven look is a little bit lighter on the face frame than the former trend of blunt bangs that would weigh a face down.
Ask your stylist to cut just below your eyebrows as this makes for a versatile look where you can even pull those sexy bangs back and make them disappear if you like. Once they are cut, if you want to go for an everyday banged out look, clamp a flat iron at the base, and bend them into a slight curve. Comb through them once you have done that to avoid the “mall” look, and squeeze a pinch of pomade on the ends at either side to frame your face beautifully.

The Secret to Leighton Meester’s Headband Craze
Filed under: 2008 hairstyles, 2009 hairstyles, brunette hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles, long hairstyles

Leighton Meester is one girl we love to hate, particularly when she is playing bad girl Queen Bee on our favourite prime time drama Gossip Girl. And another thing we love about this girl is consistency, isn’t it? No matter how good she pretends to be, we are never surprised by the fact that yes, she will always charm us with her evil doings and schemes. Perhaps what makes her so charming in this is her intentions behind most of her evil doings, as they always seem wrapped around the theme that she is doing it for her friends. Ah well, maybe we will see some changes in Blair Waldorf this season, and perhaps we won’t. The other thing that Blair seems to have when it comes to consistency is her never changing hairstyle.
If you want to add some instant glam to your hair, you can do so by taking a cue from Blair Waldorf and adopt this trend into your lifestyle with a cinch. This trend was so hot this year, that Leighton herself was rumoured to have gone through 48 headbands in last years 13 episode season. You too can get this look rather easily. To avoid the flat front that is common with a headband, first brush your hair back and tease with a comb. You will be able to keep the band in place by then spritzing hair with a texturizer and blasting the front section with a hair dryer before placing the headband on.
Place the headband onto your head instead of pulling it back, and you will be left with this style where some pieces are left in the front, while the band neatly and elegantly holds your hair back. The key to this look is remembering that the headband is meant to appear as a hair accessory, not as an actual head band that pulls your hair back giving you a facelift. Think of it as hair bling, made to look pretty on your head, and not so much for actually pulling your hair back. This mindset will help you in placement, and you can pull off this sexy but pretty look that Leighton seems to have mastered on Gossip Girl.

Jessica Lowndes Glams it Up On Set
Filed under: 2008 hairstyles, 2009 hairstyles, 90210 Hairstyles, Jessica Lowndes Hairstyles, black hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles, long hairstyles

Here we have everybody’s favorite bad girl gone good strutting her stuff on the set of Beverly Hills 90210, and it looks like Jessica’s former bad girl persona is cleaning up a little bit with the new season, as she is looking pretty darn smoking as the newest mom of Beverly Hills. Though we did see Jessica’s character tearfully give her daughter up for adoption last season, she is not actually playing a new mom, but clearly going back into the limelight with this glamorous look that shows no evidence of a new mom figure. And for this post-baby look, Jessica Lowndes was styled in this smoking purple mini dress with her gorgeous raven hair reaching new lengths this season in a sexy sultry length that is long and luscious.
Here Jessica’s hair has been styled with a vixen in mind and it looks like she is really playing up the sexy girl on the upcoming season. To get this look, use texturizing shampoo and conditioner, and you will want to blow dry with a round bristle brush. Blow dry your hair about 95%, and when it is still slightly damp, you can set your hair in large sized Velcro rollers to create this wonderful volume that Jessica has here. Let your rollers set for about 30 minutes, and then blast some heat on them to finish the drying and lock in that volume.
When your hair has cooled from this blast, take the rollers out and brush out your hair with your soft bristle brush. If your hair doesn’t quite have the volume that you are looking for, use a wide barrelled curling iron to add a little more lift at the top and add some overall extra volume. As you take the curling iron out of your hair, spritz some extra hold spray on your waves, and finger comb the look out, not worrying about your part or where your luscious long waves are moving. The end result? A lovely voluptuous mane with just enough wave and volume to look sexy, but not too much that you are over the top.

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen Pins it Up

Gisele Bundchen
Yes, it’s true, even supermodels can have a bad hair day, and you see what can happen to someone when it does. Well, for you maybe, but for Gisele it seems that when she has a bad hair day, we just get to see more of her gorgeous face. Here is Gisele as she goes for a little stroll for some me time in the West Village in New York City where she lives.
Recently she renewed her vows with hubby hunk Tom Brady, and the two have been publicizing that with much PDA recently, but it seems in this case, Gisele was going solo with nothing but her Blackberry to keep her company. And even when she is strolling through SoHo and having a grand old time in her most casual attire, she is still looking fabulous with her hair pulled back in a sleek ponytail. This just goes to show that yes, you can get away with second day hair without drawing too much attention to yourself.
If you pull off the right look like Gisele has here and choose simple pieces that are casual, but with one or two standing out amongst the others, you can get away with the ponytail. Doing just that will ensure that if you are getting looks from the crowd, they are the kind of looks you want.
