Allessandro Ambrosio Sleeks it Out in New York City
Filed under: 2009 hairstyles, blonde hairstyles, brunette hairstyles

One look at this girl and there is no surprise that she is one of the world’s most sought after supermodels, and you can’t help but wonder if this pretty lady looks this good all the time. Well, considering it is her job to express fabulosity at every opportunity, we can only say that the chances are good that she is this picture perfect every single day. And here is one of the world’s most favourite supermodels waiting around an SUV in New York City biding out some time, and looking like she’s about to step off the curb, and onto the covers of Vogue while doing so. And though she has the fashion sense and the budget that some girls would kill for, you won’t have to go to such measures to get hair that looks this uber fab all the time. To get the look that Allessandro has here, you want to start off with the same layered cut that she has here. Ask your stylist for large concave layers around your face as these layers will be used to frame your face and to also provide some volume to your luscious locks. Sleek and sexy with just a smidge of volume is the look you are going for here, so use some straightening serum on towel dried hair, and blow dry your hair with a flat paddle brush pulling your hair straight as you dry. Use a flat iron to sleek your hair out as much as you can. When you are flat ironing, you want to pin the top sections of your hair up first, and flat iron the bottom sections for maximum fullness and all over straightness. After you have flat ironed your entire head, spritz your hair with some anti-humectant. Immediately following this, you will want to flat iron your hair again, and this will lock in the humectant, and give your hair some beautiful shine. It will also seal the cuticle and ensure that your hair stays straight and glam all night long. If you want to add just a hint of volume around your face, you can curl the ends of your layers with a wide barrel curling iron, this will still maintain that gorgeous shine, and give you a little bit of a flirty swing that will turn heads all day or all night long.

Anna Paquin, True Blood star, is seen here showing the world all the effort she goes to in order to keep looking as fab as she does. She’s currently working in New York shooting her newest work “The Romantics” alongside Mrs. Cruise Katie Holmes, and is seen here during a filming break to head to the gym to meet her personal trainer. Here she is seen in the trendy SoHo District of New York City as she headed out to gym wearing a large pair of designer shades and some chic black workout clothes. You almost want to hate someone that looks THAT great even when she is in prime workout mode, but with this girl, you just can’t bring yourself to hate her, can you? No, but you can take a few lessons from her when it comes to looking effortlessly fabulous for a workout session as Anna seems to have here. And if you think it looks a little too effortless, think again because not only does this look effortless, but this look IS effortless to achieve with a quick and simple ponytail twist.
For her workout here Anna has gone with an uber cas look that still looks sexy and chic. She has simply pulled back her hair in a sexy ponytail, and not fussed too much about flyaways or concise neatness and then piled it into a double ponytail on top of her head to keep her hair free and out of her way for her workout session. If you want to go super cas as well, you can do so, and do so however you like. While this is much more of a workout look than an everyday casual look, you can still pull this one off in the everyday if you have the right hair accessory to pair your hair with for a chic and sassy everyday casual look that really only takes a few minutes.

Paula Abdul seems to be another one of those ladies that just never seems to look bad, and given the fact that she is in the spotlight so much since her work with American Idol, we can’t be too surprised about that fact. But even after she has stepped down from her reign as judge on American Idol, she still seems to keep it together and pull off uber glam style despite the fact that she’s not so much in the public eye anymore. Here she was spotted arriving back at Burbank airport, looking fabulous and chic as not many do after stepping off a major flight. But Paula has proved that style with comfort doesn’t need to be frumpy, as she has paired some simple fashion pieces with a very chic do. She is looking sexy and elegant in a pair of straight legged jeans and a loose fitting top paired with a cute but sexy ponytail for a look that can so obviously work in the office. This just goes to show that yes, you can get away with second day hair without drawing too much attention to yourself, and you can style yourself very easily even when on long flights and airport busyness.
To get this look, dampen your soft bristle brush as you pull this ponytail back, and let it sit nice and low on the back of your neck like Paula has here. Then you just need to bend your bangs under ever so slightly with your flat iron or curling iron. This is the cute part of the sexy look, the sexy comes with the outfit you pair it with. If you pull off the right look like Paula has here and choose simple pieces that are casual, but fitted to your size and complement your figure, you can get away with the ponytail. Did Jessica Alba’s Stylist Take the Day Off?
Filed under: 2009 hairstyles, Jessica Alba Hairstyles, Ponytails, brunette hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles

Jessica Alba is seen here having what for many of us would just be a normal day, as she goes out and about performing mommy duties with her daughter Honor in Santa Monica. She is one that always seems to look glamorous, so when she is having a day where she is not so glamorous, it kind of ends up looking like a bad hair day. But this is a look that many of us sport while we are performing our own day to day grind, so who are we to judge? And though she is in uber cas mode with a plaid flannel top and her hair piled in the back, she still looks great. Though if I might say so myself, she is kind of starting to look again like she could use a sandwich or two, no? But this is a look that you can pull off as well, as Jessica shows that you can go with an uber cas look and still sexy and chic.
She has simply pulled back her hair in a sexy ponytail, and not fussed too much about flyaways or concise neatness. Had she wanted to amp up her style a little bit, she could have cleaned up her ensemble, perhaps worn something like a fitted tee instead of a loose fitting top, but we can’t blame her for worrying about causes more than her look. If you want to go super cas as well, you can do so, and do so however you like. If you want to be a little stylish and chic, you can do as suggested with a fitted tee over your comfy pants, or a chic fitted zip up hoody is just as cute.

Jessica Szohr Pins It Up
Filed under: 2009 hairstyles, brunette hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles, long hairstyles

This is one starlet that just seems to get prettier and prettier with every passing season, and it’s not even like she needed any improvement to begin with. But here is Jessica Szohr from the hit show Gossip Girl showing off her funky and eclectic style with a whole lot of gorgeousness to boot. Jessica is seen looking ever so breezy and casual as she is working on the set of Gossip Girl in Battery Park in New York City, and she is proving here that a little pin up with the hair can make any look super elegant AND super cas at the same time. And given that Jessica has naturally curly hair that to many equates to naturally unmanageable, she still seems to pull off gorgeousness in a way that seems so easy. For her work on set, Jessica went for a standard workout look with her hair piled up and back with little concern for muss and fuss and even so, she still looks fabulous. This just goes to show that yes, you can get away with second day hair without drawing too much attention to yourself.
This look is not one that you need to style or maintain, it’s a simple matter of effortlessly pinning your hair up and out of your way when you are ready to head out for the day. You can start by teasing sections along either side of your part to give you some of this volume that Jessica has here. Then you want to take both sections from your side and loosely pull them back into a bun or pony that is sitting low on your neck. The key to this look is not worrying too much about being neat and super sleek, but simply allowing the look and the volume to work for you. The less you care about this look, the more casual you appear, and the more casual you appear, the more confident you feel as well which translates into super sexy.

Leighton Meester is seen here looking her ever so fabulous self while standing outside her hotel with boyfriend Sebastian Stan on the way to the VMA’s at Radio City Music Hall in New York City the other night. And though you may think that you know this girl’s style status from all of the trends that she has started with Gossip Girl, when she is off camera, she certainly does keep us guessing, doesn’t she? Whether she is going blonde or straight or wavy or curly, we never know what she is going to look like next. Here she has chosen a style that is right in line with her event for the evening, and has gone metallic rocker girl in an ensemble and hairstyle that pumps up the volume and gives her a seriously sexy edge. This look is sexy, vampy, and will get you everything you want on any given night on the town. The secrets here are tons of product, tons of curls, and tons of teasing.
Start off with curl enhancing shampoo and conditioner, and use a lightweight curling mousse to lock in some extra curl. Run some styling pomade on your palms, and then run them through your hair from front to back. You will then set your hair in pin curls all over your head. Use a blowdryer on low with a diffuser to dry your locks to 100% dry. This may take some time, but the end result will be well worth it.
When your curls are dry, spritz some extra hold hairspray on your curls before you take out the pins. The result will be a voluminous head of wavy bouncy curls. You can brush these out to smooth them out, or tease them whichever way you want for a hairstyle that is voluminous, sexy, and vampy for any night on the town.

Rachel Bilson is Glowing
Filed under: 2008 hairstyles, 2009 hairstyles, brunette hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles, long hairstyles

Ah yes, there is nothing like a brand spanking new engagement ring to put a long overdue smile on a girl’s face, and Rachel Bilson is no exception. Here she is in Los Angeles doing some house hunting for her and her new husband to be, and as usual, this style icon is dressed to perfection. Pulling off a casual little black dress, Rachel is showing off a thousand watt smile to match her thousand watt diamond ring. And she has gone a little dressy in the hair, but elegantly enough that her long chestnut locks look casual as well. And whether you have easily tamable hair or not, this look of long and loose waves is so hot right now, and very easy to accomplish.
To get this look like Rachel Bilson, use texturizing shampoo and conditioner, and you will want to blow dry with a round bristle brush. Blow dry your hair about 95%, and when it is still slightly damp, you can set your hair in large sized Velcro rollers to create this wonderful volume that Rachel has here. Let your rollers set for about 30 minutes, and then blast some heat on them to finish the drying and lock in that volume.
When your hair has cooled from this blast, take the rollers out and brush out your hair with your soft bristle brush. The rollers will work to give you some volume, but don’t always allow for a wavy curl, so if you want a little more wave in your hair, use a large barrelled curling iron to lock in the sections you want more vamp appeal. The end result? A lovely voluptuous mane with just enough wave and volume to look sexy, but not too much that you are over the top.

Michelle Trachtenberg Keeps Us Guessing With Gossip Girl
Filed under: 2008 hairstyles, 2009 hairstyles, Ponytails, brunette hairstyles, celebrity hairstyles, long hairstyles

And here we have the every so lovely Michelle Trachtenberg appearing once again on the set of Gossip Girl, leading us to believe that some more of her trouble is in store for our favourite Upper East Siders. In the first season of Gossip Girl, we saw Michelle blast New York with her icy persona, and she returned last season as a bad girl gone good. A little too good, in the “I love Jesus, don’t you?” kind of way. And it looks like she is going to keep us guessing with her real plans for Upper Manhattan, as we see her returning here on set for the upcoming season. And this look she has here does not tell us very much in the way of what we can wait for from her.
Here Michelle is not exactly her former sexy vamp sinking her claws into the city, but she is not exactly sending off the Christian Polyanna vibes any longer. Does this happy medium in her style mean that she is going to surprise us yet again? Who knows, but what Michelle is doing with this ponytail is a great thing, as it shows that yes, even a second day hair day ponytail can look both sleek AND chic, whether you are taking it day or night.
This look is easy to accomplish, particularly since you are going to skip your shampoo and do this with second day hair. For your front section, take a fine tooth comb dipped in water, and create a razor sharp part about 2-3 inches long. Then, comb the remaining section on the back of your crown, and tease it lightly to give you a bit of height and volume at the back of your head. Use your fine tooth comb to sleekly comb your sides to the back, gathering your back crown section together with your two sides.
Secure at the nape of your neck with a clear elastic, and give the back section a spritz of extra hold hairspray. Sweep your bangs to the side in either direction of your part, however you feel most comfortable, and secure with a pin behind your ear. Finish the look with a little spritzing of hair gloss, and you have yourself a super easy hairstyle that will look and stay great no matter WHERE you take it all day or all night
