This look however is not that easy to achieve if you are going for sleek and chic, so you do want to take your time here. Part your hair down the center, and run your comb under water to assist with the sleek factor. Comb both sides of your head with the comb to sleek your sides, and this dampening effect will allow you to work with and braid your hair much easier. Comb a tiny section off the top and towards the back and begin your braiding.

As you braid, braid towards the back of your head so that the braid will lie smooth. Do the same with the other side, and depending on how long your hair is, you can either tuck the ends under, or coil them into a pretty bun at the back. Finish with some extra hold spray for your flyaways and you have yourself a pretty and chic updo that can take you from day to night without having to do a single thing!

Paris Gets Snubbed!

Oh yes, we all love to hear the stories about the Golden Globes. And as exciting it is to see who is wearing who and who is arriving with whom, it is even more exciting to hear about all the juicy little things that happen behind the scenes at the Golden Globes. Of course everyone talks about the red carpet sound bites and the immaculately styled starlets, but the dramas that go beyond the media screens is the juice we are really all after, isn’t it? Of course! So when we got wind that Paris Hilton received a big fat snub during this year’s GG’s, we got very excited. Here she was spotted perhaps doing some retail therapy as she shopped Barney’s New York in Beverly Hills. Since when does Paris shop at Barney’s, anyway? I didn’t realize Barney’s was showcasing a bubble skirt collection these days.

At any rate, Paris Hilton is one that we love to mock and tease, as does the rest of the world, she’s such an easy target. But when she gets the royal A list snub, we move from mocking and teasing to downright laugh out loud hysteria. It sounds like there was a little after party for the GG’s that Paris was not only excluded from attending, but actually booted physically from the event. But she must have fallen softly I am thinking because it seems that she’s been booted from so many establishments and events that I am beginning to wonder if there is an international ‘Do Not Invite’ list of organizations and companies that have Paris’s name as numero uno. The party that Paris got the boot from THIS time was the Creative Artist Agency’s post Globes bash, and was overseen by the CAA super guy Kevin Huvane. Paris was not on the invite list, and musta used her ‘it got lost in the mail’ excuse to squeeze her anorexic frame in, but when Kevin got wind of her being there, he demanded that she be escorted as far from the Sunset Towers as was physically possible.

Kevin was outraged at her sense of entitlement, and he was adamant that she be removed. He was storming around, yelling ‘Who let her in? She is not invited, and somebody had better get her out of here immediately!

Ashlee Simpson’s Post Baby Look is Blonde!

Ashlee Simpson is seen here with her hubby Pete Wentz in one of her first appearances after having her baby just a few short weeks ago. And it seems that Ashlee decided to make her first post baby appearance a big one, as she co-hosted a New Years Eve party at PURE nightclub in Cesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. And yes, you will have to do a double take on this girl, as without doing so you may not even realize that it was Ashlee Simpson. Looks like Ashlee has traded in her fiery copper locks for a platinum look that I have to say, takes a few years off her already young appearance.

Yes, this is a very fun look for Ashlee, and it may be just the freshening up she needed after having a baby. I have to say though, as pretty as this look is, I do really prefer this girl as a redhead, it always made her stand out a little more. However, this is not to say that she doesn’t look fabulous, and this new color works for her as well. For the party, Ashlee decided to go with leaving her hair down and loose in sexy waves that would make you second guess her motherhood as well. No, this girl does not look like a new first time mama at all, she looks like the sexy rocker that she is with a look that would pull off any New Years party with a bang.

For the soft waves, you can go with the bun effect, and use some waving serum in damp hair. Coil your hair into a bun while still damp at the top of your head and blast the bun with a blow dryer. When you are sure your hair is dry, uncoil the bun and you will have instant waves. You can freshen up any strands with a medium sized curling iron, spritz with some extra hold hairspray, and you have a sexy wavy look that will last you all night long.

Here Kim has kept her long black locks sleek and straight and glossing to the max, and she has gone for a new look with deep set fringed bangs. Ah yes, bangs are all the rage this year, and if you are looking to freshen your look up, bangs are a great way to do that without making a huge overhaul. You can go for a deep fringed bang look for an end result that is very contemporary and chic, or you can simply trim off some length in the front and have a fresh clean look. Either way, bangs are a little known secret that will take years off in an instant.

Jessica Lowndes Hides a Baby Bump

Bad girl Jessica Lowndes is seen here on the set of Beverly Hills 90210, and by the looks of it, she’s got a little secret brewing in some upcoming episodes of the CW’s prime time drama. We know Jessica Lowndes plays a bad girl on television, but the truth is, she is one of the CW’s biggest sweethearts, which only proves how talented she is. You will see her continuing her battle with drug addiction on the set of 90210 as the season continues, and she will also be battling a teenage pregnancy, which, may get complicated if she continues on the addiction path. And Jessica is a girl that sort of plays a dark character, which is easily complemented by her sort of dark gothic look as well. She has pure white skin and dark wavy locks that can project either a Snow White image, or a gothic creature. Here, Jessica’s cropped locks have been waved into ringlets, and this look gives her a softer look, which may mean that her character on 90210 may be turning towards the side of good, not evil.

To get this look, run volumizing mousse through your hair from roots to your ends, and give yourself a middle part with a fine tooth comb. Allow your hair to air dry instead of blasting it with heat. Use a medium sized curling iron to create your curls, and curl your hair vertically instead of horizontally. Hold the curling iron for 10 seconds, and then pull the iron out slowly. Do this for your entire head, and you can leave the ringlets as is, or you can finger comb them out for a sexy, sassy look that lasts all day long.

Again, this look simply proves that you don’t have to go to great lengths to look fabulous. To achieve this look, you can work with second day hair if you want, but fresh clean hair always works wonders for a sleek and shiny finish. On towel dried hair, run some styling wax in your hair to just give your hair enough extra bend to move as you like. Blow dry your hair with a flat paddle brush from root to tips to maximize sheen.

Create a middle part and then simply pull your hair into a low ponytail securing with a clear elastic. If you have any of those ponytail bumps, use a wide toothed comb to smooth them out. Try and stay away from the fine tooth comb as this will lead to more bumps along the way. If you really need some extra shine or are heading out for the night, a little glossy serum will be just the thing to add that extra glamour for an all night shine.

To get this look, you will want to use texturizing conditioner and shampoo during your shower to give you some extra flex and bend for styling. Use a curl enhancing mousse on towel dried hair and distribute product from roots to tips. Blow dry your hair from roots to ends with a round soft bristle brush, paying extra attention the crown as this will give you some nice lift and volume at your crown. You will then use medium sized hot rollers on your ends, and roll your hair in two inch sections, but only up to your chin. This will give your hair some lovely curl and bounce without your hair shaft weighing down your curls.

Isla’s Hair Went to Splitsville!

In most cases we reserve the term splitsville for the town that the torrid couples of Tinseltown visit when their relationships come to a screeching halt. In this case, we are using splitsville in reference to the bad things that are happening to the ends of Isla’s long locks. She always manages to look so fresh, but here she is seen with messy bedhead red hair and some split ends that are way beyond out of control.

This is one of those cases girls where you go to the closet and pull out your cute hat collection so that if you really need to skip both the wash AND the style, you only need to tuck your hair, and your messy ends, into the cute hat of your choice. And since many of us are living in the colder temperatures, we need to take extra precautions when it comes to hair care and hair maintenance. The ends have a tendency to dry out faster than our roots, and in colder temps, the pace at which this occurs seems to be exponentially faster than in the summer months.

Be sure to treat your hair with hot oil treatments at least once a week, and these are treatments that you can do with an at-home kit from your local pharmacy. Conditioning your hair every day with your daily wash is another must, and you can use anti-humectant spray on your ends before you head out. This will lock the cuticle over your hair shaft and give it an extra seal of protection before you go out and brave the elements. Split ends can happen to anyone, and in any weather, no matter how great your cut is. Preventive measures are your best defense!
